ThursdayEphesians 6:10-18

In Ephesians 1, Paul writes concerning Christ’s position of authority. In Ephesians 2, Paul describes believers’ heavenly position of authority in Christ and says based on these, we have the ability to wage war against powers and principalities. Ephesians 6 describes the armor God provides for this war. Among the defensive and offensive pieces of armor, Paul writes: “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

Without prayer during the spiritual battle, we won’t have the strength we need. Because our struggles aren’t against flesh and blood, we can’t overcome them with flesh and blood. We must use power and resources beyond ourselves. As we are alert and pray in the Spirit at all times, we will find God’s strength replaces our own.

Are you worn out trying to fight the spiritual battles you face on your own? If so, stop and pray. Access the power and provision God so desperately wants to give you.
