Tuesday – 1 Corinthians 1:10
The idea of unity within the body of Christ is so important Jesus himself prayed for it in the book of John. In John 17:11, he says these words: “Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.”

It is apparent from Paul’s letters that quarreling was a common practice among many of the churches with which he visited. The people who make up our church today will have disagreements and differing opinions—that is a fact of life. The important thing to keep in mind is that community happens when believers are unified in their hearts and minds about the true mission of the church. A perfectly united front, carrying the message of salvation to a dying world, is a powerful tool God can use to bring about great things in his name.
