1 John 5:1-2

Clearly targeting believers who have been born of the Father through belief in him, John gives a tool for measuring success. Love is found by loving God and obeying his commands. This concept is easy for the mind to grasp, but often hard for the body to follow. God has called his people to obedience, and obedience infers action. Action can be difficult because it causes movement beyond comfort zones in life. However, comfort zones should not be a point of return, it should be a point of pressing forward. God does not need his people to be comfortable to be obedient. God, in fact, would rather have his people dependent on him in all situations to provide a readiness that is radically obedient.
