CONNECTED TO FAMILY

Devotions written by Mikel Porter, Young Adult Minister

Monday
Genesis 2:20b-25; Ephesians 5:21-33

Family was God’s idea. From the very beginning, he intended for us to relate to one another within the family context. And marriage is the beginning of the family from which everything else flows. It’s easy to get wrapped up in our kids and in our work and in all the other things we have going on, but our health in the other areas is greatly impacted by the health of our marriage.

If you are married, I challenge you to spend some time this week evaluating your relationship. In what areas do you need to communicate more or focus on? How can you show love to your spouse today? If you are struggling, perhaps it’s time to do something really great for your marriage and see a professional counselor.

If you are not married, pray for your future spouse or for couples around you—maybe it’s your parents, siblings, or friends. Spend this time preparing your heart and mind for future relationships.
