Psalm 116:15-19

Nothing elicits a more proper response to God’s rich grace than recounting the ways in which God has delivered us. In the first part of the chapter, the psalmist recounts that God heard his cry, rescued him from suffering and death, and delivered him. In our passage today, the psalmist recounts that God has freed him from his chains. In response, the psalmist takes a position of humility. He writes, “I am your servant.” Further, he commits himself to giving a thank-offering, fulfilling his vows to God, and living his faith in a public way.

What about you? How has God delivered you, your family, or your marriage? List some times God has freed you, delivered you, or blessed you in ways you don’t deserve. Spend time offering thanks, recommitting yourself to following Christ, and looking for those with whom you can share how God has blessed you.
