Generosity—it runs throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Most of us think of generosity in light of our financial giving to God’s work. That’s part of the big picture, but just one part.

This fall we will look at generosity from the big-picture point of view. So open your Bible, read the devotionals for each day, and pray for God to speak to you about your life.

We focus on one word during these days—Pursue. God is always pursuing us. And we are to pursue people. We pursue people because we serve a generous God who loves us and knows what is best for us.

Looking forward to a great and generous fall season.

Your Pastor,

Stephen G. Hatfield

Genesis 1

God is a gracious, giving God. He created our world as a place of beauty and love, where his creation would flourish. God created people, Adam and Eve, in order to love them and have a relationship with them. He created people with free will—the power to choose—meaning they would not be forced to love him in return. Instead, they could choose to love and know him, as well as the beautiful world he created. It’s our choice to respond in love (or not). How do you think God hopes we will respond? How do you think God hopes we will care for his world? Give these questions thought as you reflect on your relationship with God.
