1 Timothy 6:17-19; 1 Peter 1:22-25
I was stunned to see how succinctly this passage summed up Ecclesiastes 6. Paul covered it all: wealth, work, and one of the biggest unanswered questions of all—the age to come.
The primary lesson of Ecclesiastes should be this: Squandering your life on selfish pursuits is completely and utterly stupid. As Peter explains, with a little help from Isaiah in 1 Peter 1:22-25, since this life is so short when viewed in the context of eternity, we must diligently stick to the purpose of why we are here: to make much of Christ so the lost may be saved.
