Wednesday – Mark 14:22-26
Jesus took the Passover meal with his disciples. Every part of this meal pointed back to God’s deliverance of the people from Egyptian slavery.
Today’s verses were not part of the Passover meal—Jesus took bread and cup and commanded his disciples to eat and drink again. Jesus’ words point not back in time, but his words look forward to his return to earth.
The words Jesus spoke remind us of his death on the cross.
