Genesis 12:1-5

God asked much of Abram—to leave his family, his relatives, his friends, and his way of life—to go somewhere completely unknown. At the age of 75, no less! Why would God ask this? Why would Abram agree to go with God?

Could it be that having purpose in life and being part of “God’s bigger plan” is more fulfilling, exciting, even than family of origin?

As we focus on remembering this week, do more than recall favorite times in your past. Instead, recall what God is doing in his world and how he uses obedient people to pass along his blessings to others. Consider and appreciate the sacrifice of these individuals. Be open to how God wants to use you to fulfill his purpose of sharing Jesus’ salvation to others.
