1 John 3:11-12
Religious enmity has been a part of human existence since the first siblings walked the earth. Cain murdered his brother Abel because of religious differences.
John exhorts us to remember our primary mandate: to love those whom Christ also loves. In other words, everyone!
Wherever two or three are gathered together, there will eventually be conflict. But the Spirit of Christ will also be there to smooth ruffled feathers and guide us back to love (Matthew 18:20).
The following quote has proven beneficial throughout the ages to Christians experiencing conflict: “In Essentials, Unity. In Non-essentials, Liberty. In all things, Love.”
