2 Timothy 4:19-22
Friends are a wonderful gift from the Lord. Thank God for the loving people he has placed in your life.
The Bible doesn’t tell us whether Timothy made it to see Paul, nor does it tell us how Paul died. Christian tradition, via early church writings, indicates Paul was sentenced to death and beheaded outside the city of Rome. Years later (early 400s), Christians built a chapel at the place where they thought Paul was killed.
The best news is Timothy and other devoted followers of Christ carried on the work of spreading the good news of Jesus! The power of the cross continues to change lives. We, too, must be faithful in sharing the gospel so everyone will have the opportunity to hear about and know Jesus.
