Acts 4:32-35
Generosity requires a sacrifice. It is an intentional giving up of one’s resources above and beyond what would normally be expected. In Acts 4, we see another example of how the early church gave up control of what was theirs to help those around them. There was no expectation for them to do so, yet they responded in the only way they could when the Holy Spirit was being poured out on them. They “were of one heart and soul” (4:32) and as a result “there was not a needy person among them” (4:34). Imagine for a moment that our church community began living out the Gospel in this way. What kind of impact would it have on the community around us?
