Friday
1 Peter 4:10-11

As followers of Christ, we are encouraged to consider every gift from God as one to be used to serve others. Our spiritual gifts are not meant to be used selfishly. We are servants of others, as well as stewards of God’s property. So when we read these words from Peter, we see exactly how we are to use these gifts. When speaking the truth about Christ, we should speak knowing we are speaking the very words of God Almighty. Likewise, when we serve, we should do so with the strength that is provided by God himself. Why is this important? It is important because it is God alone who deserves the glory.

God provides the gifts. We provide the willingness to be available and obedient. The glory is never ours. It is God who is the giver of all things, and the glory is his. When we serve unselfishly out of love for God and yield to the Holy Spirit, it keeps our eyes focused on God’s true plan for the gifts he has given us and accomplishes all he desires for his church and for his glory.
