Wednesday
Exodus 6:2-8

What name do you use most frequently when you call upon God? Is it Jesus? Christ? Lord? Heavenly Father? Savior? God Almighty? Yahweh?

God first revealed himself as Yahweh—I AM—to Moses. Although he appeared earlier to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, it was to Moses at the burning bush God first revealed his Holy name, that he was and IS the eternal God (Exodus 3:13-14), “I AM.”

What a blessing it is to know this same God, who revealed himself to Moses, reveals himself to us. He also knows you by name. “Even the very hairs of your head are numbered,” and he knows how many (Matthew 10:30). God wants to have a personal, growing relationship with each of his created beings. That means everybody in this world needs the opportunity to know and experience the work of Yahweh, the great I AM, and his one and only son, Jesus.

Go back and re-read today’s Scripture, looking for the different names used in reference to God. Then pray, addressing God by each of his titles mentioned in our reading for the day.
