Tuesday
Philippians 2:3-4

You’ve probably heard about members at other churches complaining or saying “they didn’t like _________ .” (Fill in the blank: e.g. that the worship music is too loud or not my style, the preaching, that the air conditioning isn’t working or it’s too cold, that some people come to church not dressed appropriately, etc). Paul calls this selfish ambition. Surely it would never happen at FBCL.

Any sin can lead to church disunity, whether it be gossip, or thinking we are more important than someone else, or saying negative things about the church, or talking bad about other members in the church. The list goes on and on.

In contrast, our servant actions and Christ-like humility help build unity. Putting the needs of others above our own builds unity. Loving each other with agape love (God’s love) builds unity. Forgiveness builds unity. Serving together builds unity. Caring for each other in time of need builds unity. What kind of church member are you determined to be? It takes intentional effort.
