Nehemiah 10:32-39
The third area of decision was they will be faithful to God when it comes to supporting God’s work. First, they agreed to give as God had commanded (the firstborn, first-fruits, and tithe). Second, they agreed to give as the special need required (the one-third of a shekel tax and the wood). Firstborn and first-fruits are risky to give because your land might not yield much more produce, and your cow or ewe might not give birth again. Yet the first still belongs to God. God promises to bless this kind of giving. How are you faithful to God in your giving today? Are you giving your tithe? Are you giving above and beyond when the need arises? If not, I challenge you to try it. You will be blown away by what God does in your heart and life.
