Saturday
Jude 20-23

Jude changes direction in the final section of his letter. He takes these last moments to share how believers can set up safeguards against those who had infiltrated the church with harmful intentions. He challenges the believers to build on the Word of God, pray in the power of God, and remain in the love of God. He encourages them to center their focus on the truth of God while waiting for Christ’s return.

He then turns to dealing with those who have been influenced by these men. Being sensitive to the Holy Spirit, he calls on believers to be merciful to doubters, save those in great danger, and show compassion to those in need. For us, this ultimately is a challenge to not only look out for our own spiritual welfare, but to also care about other Christians who are edging toward significant error.

Spend some moments today reflecting on Jude’s safeguards. Do you have safeguards in place in your own life? Are there believers around you who are heading in the wrong direction? If so, how can you share compassion and love toward them today?
