Sunday
2 Timothy 1:8b-12

Christ-followers quickly come to the realization we have done nothing that would cause God to call us out for salvation. Even on our best days, God’s purpose is the only sufficient reason for God’s goodness in our lives. His grace is totally unmerited. His love is unearned. His grace was given before the dawn of creation, much less before any action on our part.

With these thoughts in mind, Paul says he suffers to share the gospel and to fulfill his role as a herald and apostle. Paul uses the word “herald” to mean one who speaks a public proclamation with authority. He uses the word “apostle” to mean he is a representative of Christ himself. How are you living out your gratitude for your salvation? Are you speaking publicly, powerfully to represent Christ? Why or why not?
