Ecclesiastes 3:16-17
Life isn’t fair. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. This is perhaps one of the earliest and most critical lessons for a child. Nothing is equal and you may or may not get what you deserve—whether that is good or bad.
Solomon reminds us that although we cannot find justice everywhere in our world today, God will be the ultimate judge and will set things right. These verses echo back to 3:11—eternity has been set in our hearts. We crave a world that is just and right, and we will attain it one day in eternity.
