Friday – Mark 9:14-29
Peter, James, and John had just seen Jesus transfigure before their eyes. As they rejoined the other disciples, they saw they were arguing with the teachers of the law. A man had brought his son to the disciples to be healed, but they were unable to cast out the evil spirit. In talking to the man, Jesus told him, “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Scripture says the boy’s father immediately made his confession, “I do believe: help me overcome my unbelief!”

If we’re honest, there are times we believe God can do what we ask in prayer, but we still need help to overcome areas of unbelief. In those times, we can take comfort in the fact that Jesus met the boy’s father where he was. And Jesus will meet us where we are as well. What are the people and things for which you pray believing but also need God’s help in your unbelief? Spend time laying these requests before the Lord again.
