1 John 4:11-14

The concept of “pursue” is rooted in the people lost in a broken world. The true potential of the Gospel, however, is found not just in the lost, but in everyday love for one another. This passage explains to humanity that God cannot be physically seen, but he is seen through a living Spirit within those who believe. The image of God that surrounds Christianity is found in broken people who have come to the realization of a Creator who gives them fulfillment in his rescuer, Jesus Christ. Those who believe this are called Christians and are commanded to “go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” This is truth, a very awesome and life-altering truth.

God has called all people to “seek and save the lost,” but he also said, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” Often, I have attributed the Gospel to the lost and forget to place myself as a disciple who is in a consistent need of a reminder of the certainty of God’s grace. I should not think the Gospel is just for the “lost.” For all have either been lost or are currently lost. The Gospel is the constant reminder of our great rescuer and the need to serve him.

Ask yourself when was the last time you shared the great news of JESUS CHRIST? Who do you think of when you hear this question? God’s love is seen in sharing his love with one another. There is no excuse for not sharing this truth—who will you share the love with today?
