MondayMatthew 25:14-30
Many times, Jesus used financial examples to make a spiritual point. This week we are going to look at some of the parables Jesus told using money as an example.

We have read and looked at the dangers of obsessing over money. However, it is also true that we should not be indifferent about our handling of money either. A talent is a lot of money. The NIV translates a talent as a bag of money. In the parable of the talents, the master called the servant who did nothing with his share “wicked and slothful” (25:26). On the other hand, the master commended the other two servants who realized an increase in their shares. Jesus is not just teaching about money in this parable. Jesus’ focus is on much more than money; God owns it all and we are to be faithful with the resources he gives us. This includes money. It also includes our time, health, skills, and abilities. We are not to just sit on it or waste it. We are to use it to glorify God.
