Tuesday – Romans 12:1-13
As you were reading today’s passage, your copy of the Scriptures might have had a title at the beginning that read something like, “A Living Sacrifice.” In this overarching theme of sharing life together, there couldn’t be a better way to express the calling on our lives. Paul “urges” each one of us to offer our “bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.” He goes on to say this is our “true and proper worship.” Many of the verses that follow give specific examples of how we are to live selflessly for the rest of our community. Take the next several moments to assess how you are doing with this long list of commands in God’s Word. Pay close attention to the characteristics or actions you see as lacking in your life. Make every effort to pray God would reveal ways to stretch your faith and make you the member of this community that he desires.
