John 12:1-11
Where do you see yourself in this story? Are you Martha, the hard worker, getting everything ready and making sure everything is perfect for Jesus? Are you focused on the preparation and the execution of the gathering? How did she feel about Mary not helping, and what Judas was saying?
Are you Judas? He is the cautious, prudent, and reliable disciple (or he must have seemed so at the time). Judas was looking after the resources of the group to ensure their needs were met, as well as the needs of the poor.
Or are you Mary? Do you shamelessly worship Jesus with everything you have? Are you not concerned with what other people think or say?
As we move toward Holy Week, our attitude and perspective matter a great deal.
