Monday – John 2:13-22, Matthew 21:12-17
Read both passages. Do you notice John’s account has this cleansing of the temple during the first year of Jesus’ ministry, while Matthew places it during the last week of Jesus’ life, approximately three years later?

How do you explain this? Some say John moved his account to the beginning of Jesus’ ministry to give it special emphasis even though it did not occur until years later. Others say the accounts differ enough to suggest Jesus cleansed the temple on more than one occasion.

I think Jesus cleaned the temple every year of his ministry. The religious leaders did not change their ways, and Jesus did not change his either.
