Thursday
Matthew 26:30

Jesus and the disciples sang a song after their Passover meal. Jewish sources tell us the Passover was concluded with the words from Psalms 115-118. Though the words of any of these chapters are appropriate, I am drawn to Psalm 117.

Oh praise the Lord, all ye nations;
Praise his name all ye peoples of the earth.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us,
And the truth of the Lord endures forever.

As you begin this day, in your prayer, sing these words. Make up your own tune—no one is listening. Well, no one but God.
