No Matter What . . . A Study in Philippians
Week 3 Devotionals written by Dr. Williamson

Monday, Memorial Day
Philippians 1:21

The book of Philippians has several important signature verses, verses which touch at the heart of our Christian faith. 1:21 is the first of these signature verses.

Paul didn’t write his letter using “chapters” and “verses.” These search and study tools were added later by Christian scribes. These scribes did a fantastic job of directing our attention to key thoughts and teachings which are helpful in preaching, teaching, and memorizing scripture. “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” is not only a signature expression in Paul’s life, it should serve as one in our lives as well. And appropriate for this Memorial Day!
