Genesis 9:12-17

Summer is almost upon us. The current school year is coming to a close. For many, good memories of past vacations come rushing back as we think of summer. Maybe you remember a time when you went somewhere to view God’s beautiful creation, like the Rocky Mountains or Carlsbad Caverns.

Our Scripture readings this week lead us to Memorial Day and summer. We look at Scripture where God tells us specifically to remember him, his love, and/or his activity in this world.

Today’s reading from Genesis is a reminder of one promise God made: he will never entirely flood the world again. His promise was sealed with a rainbow in the sky. This summer, when you see a rainbow, don’t simply admire its beauty. Remember, it represents God’s love.
