The early church sent out itinerant preachers who were dependent upon the hospitality of believers for food and shelter. John praises his friend Gaius for doing just that. Diotrephes, on the other hand, was prideful and refused to welcome the traveling ministers. Can you imagine your bad behavior being preserved for all eternity in God’s Holy Word?!
