Friday
Mark 3:1-6

When Jesus saw the man with a withered hand, he saw a need and met it. The Pharisees instead objectified the man—using him as a pawn in their plot to kill Jesus. Ultimately, their main concern was the law, not a man who needed help.

How do we fail to see the people all around us in need of healing and restoration? Do we, like the Pharisees, objectify people rather than point them to the Christ who can restore them? How have we been inactive and paralyzed by the rules? When faced with the opportunity to “do good” and “save a life,” the Pharisees were silent. At times, so are we. As a great man once said, we need to “Stop it.”
