Nehemiah 9:16-25
The Levites’ prayer not only reminded the Israelites of God’s deliverance from Egypt, it also reminded them of the times when God’s people turned away from him. Hopefully, we will learn from their mistakes, and not repeat their errors.
The result of Israel’s sinfulness at the time was a 40-year delay in entering the Promised Land. The children of Israel wandered in the desert wilderness as a consequence for their sin. Yet even in their unfaithfulness, God provided for his people as they wandered, giving quail and manna. God is good, even when we are not.
