Daniel 9:7-14
Daniel continued his intercessory prayer of confession for Israel in today’s Scripture reading. He owned the sin and shame of a country without any excuse.
In order to understand the fullness of God’s grace and mercy, we must realize the full weight and depth of our own sin and it’s consequences. As we understand our sin, we also must own it. There is no excuse or explanation that could make up for our disobedience. Owning it not only calls for confession but also repentance by turning completely away from our sin and returning back to God.
