Thursday – Matthew 7:7-8
In 7:7-8 Jesus commands us to “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” The verb tense in this verse is literally “Keep on asking; keep on seeking, and keep on knocking.” As we persist in making our requests known to God, trusting that he is the only one who can provide answers, our faith in him grows.

Think of a time you persisted in prayer. Maybe you are going through this time right now. Thank God in advance for increased faith and answers that will come as you obey Jesus’ command to pray persistently.
