Philippians 4:4-5
Remember “joy” or some form of joy appears over and over again in this brief letter. Joy is different from happiness. Happiness depends upon the circumstances around you. Joy is grounded in the very character of God.
When Paul asserted the “Lord is near,” he was not mistaken. The return of Christ was and is the next major event in God’s prophetic timeline. Every generation should anticipate the nearness of Christ’s return.
