MondayMark 10:17-31
The rich young man, by all accounts, was a religious man, an obedient keeper of the law. But he left his encounter with Jesus disheartened and sad. He was willing to give up everything except the one thing Jesus asked of him—his wealth. There was nothing wrong with him being wealthy; rather, his wealth had become his functional savior and Jesus saw that in his heart. Jesus goes on to tell his disciples it is difficult for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God. Difficult, but not impossible! Why do you think wealth makes entering the kingdom of God difficult? As followers of Christ, we must understand that wealth is a blessing from God not to be used as a replacement for God. As we will see this week, wealth is not our security (see Proverbs 18:11) but is a means by which we can worship, serve, and honor God

Are you rich?  Here is a little exercise.  Go to howrichami.givingwhatwecan.org/ and see where you land in comparison to the rest of the world.
