Philippians 4:8-9
Social media, the evening news, and the newspaper focus on the negative, the ugly, and the violent events all around us. This passage takes the opposite view.
The Greek language has several words that we translate as “if” in English. In the phrases “if any excellence,” and “if anything worthy of praise,” “if” is better rendered as “since.” In the midst of our fallen world, there are those things that are worth pursuing.
