1 Thessalonians 1:1
Paul employs the typical letter greeting here. He includes Silvanus (also known as Silas) and Timothy. He also calls them the “church.” Most of his readers were new believers. Most of these new believers were looked down upon by their Jewish counterparts. Paul reminds them of their real identity as the body of Christ.
