2 Timothy 2:8-13
Paul reminded Timothy (and us) of the current and future hope we have in Jesus Christ by quoting what was probably an early hymn of the church. (Note the way 2:11-13 are indented.)
God has gifted some people with the ability to write lyrics which literally bring courage and power to our souls. We have several radio stations in the DFW area which offer encouragement through Christian songs and the sharing of God’s Word. I have four of these stations programmed into my car radio: 89.7, 90.9, 91.3, and 94.9. I can always find something that will encourage me as I drive by surfing through these four radio presets.
Listening to Christian music is not a substitute for Bible reading, prayer, and meditation, but it is an additional gift from our Lord to encourage us as we live for him. May God richly bless you today as you seek to share Jesus and the power of his cross!
