Matthew 3:1-17
Fast forward thirty years. Luke tells us young Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:40). John the Baptist evidently did too. John was sent to “make ready the way for the Lord,” and that’s exactly what he did. We don’t know if Zacharias and Elizabeth got to hear their son preach or not. But they obviously did many things right as parents as their son did exactly what God called him to do, and lived a life of obedience. We can and should do that, also. How are you preparing the way for your friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers to come to know Jesus?
