Matthew 26:14-30
The Last Supper has many elements for us to study, but today I want to focus on the betrayal Jesus experienced. Have you ever been betrayed by someone you love? It is one thing to be betrayed by someone you barely know or in your outer circle, but when someone from the inside turns on you, it’s on another level. When we talk about Jesus taking on all of our sins, it is more than just a proverbial statement. Jesus went to the cross with the deepest pain caused by our betrayal, the deepest sadness caused by our grief, and the deepest agony because of our rebellion. Jesus’ heart and soul were affected by our sin. He carried it all.
