Psalm 118
As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the people shouted, “Hosanna!” The original meaning of the word meant “Save us!” It was used in the middle of desperate circumstances—a cry for help. Over time, the definition expanded to be “Salvation! Thank you!” It was a cry for help but also a cry of praise and thanksgiving. As we worship together at church today, dwell on the word “Hosanna.” In what area of your life are you calling on God for rescue? How can you praise him for what he has done for you?
