John’s Gospel contains several statements Jesus made that reveal his identity and mission.

Monday
John 10:7-10

“… I am the door of the sheep.”

Jesus declares he is the door to God’s Kingdom—the only entrance. There is no other passage to eternal life except through him. His presence as the sole entry point to heaven shows his power and authority having the final say as to who is allowed into the “pasture.” It also portrays a sense of safety and peace for those who have entered. Jesus is the protector of his sheep as they enjoy life “to the full.”
