Sunday
Genesis 3:14-15
When Adam and Eve made their choice to disobey in the Garden called Eden, the serpent and Adam and Eve were judged, but the serpent was also cursed.
The conflict between people and snakes symbolizes the outcome of the titanic struggle between God and evil. The woman’s offspring would crush the serpent’s head—a promise fulfilled in Christ’s victory over Satan.
As we share the Bread and Cup this morning, keep the following in mind—Evil struck Jesus on the heel (the cross) but Jesus conquered death. Jesus struck evil with a fatal wound to the head. We all share in Jesus’ victory.
