Jude 7, 14-15

Having warned the church about the apostates among them, given historical examples of the same behavior, characterized the sins these men personify, and used metaphoric pictures of their destruction, Jude takes a moment to spell out God’s judgment on apostasy. He reminds the readers of past judgment on the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Then Jude predicts God’s future judgment when Christ returns citing Enoch’s prophecy. Judgment is real. It has happened and will happen again. This is a harsh warning from Jude to God’s chosen people—one the church needs to heed today.
