5th Grade Winter Retreat

FIFTH GRADE WINTER RETREAT is February 24-25!  This retreat is unique in that it provides space and time for your child to talk about the many facets of growing up. The goal of WINTER RETREAT is to put your fifth grader on a trajectory to thrive in the coming teen years. 


Fifth Grade WINTER RETREAT
Friday, February 24, at 5:30pm to Saturday, February 25, at 1:30pm
Camp Copass (30 min. away)
$75 –  Cost includes transportation, lodging, meals, snacks, and a long sleeve retreat shirt.

Topics are:

  • Dealing With Feelings of Inferiority
  • Under Pressure…Conformity
  • Puberty, Physical Changes, and Sex…What’s That?!?     (Separate boy and girl sessions)
  • How To Speak Parent
  • Found! Identity and Purpose

Teaching materials that will serve as a base for the weekend are Dennis and Barbara Rainey’s Passport To Purity and James Dobson’s Preparing For Adolescence.  Godly council will be given as all topics are approached from a scriptural basis. The format of the retreat is both large and small groups, and every fifth grader will receive a workbook.
