210 Student Missions – South Texas Report

During Spring Break, a Student Ministry team went on a trip to help serve the people of Nederland, TX. This is an area of Beaumont, TX that was affected greatly by the hurricanes in past years. Led by Texas Baptist’s BOUNCE organization, our students helped to install two laminate floorings, clean up yard landscaping, pre-wash siding for future work, and much more. They put hours of hard work together over a couple of days to accomplish much through the Lord’s power.

Mid-week, we began the journey home by rewarding our students with a stop at Gator Country. They had the opportunity to see and hold real live alligators and other reptiles. The students had a blast and we were able to capture some fun pictures among our group as well. Go to our Instagram page to view some!

The mission team ended the week at Trinity Pines Conference Center. We had some recreation time and rest before helping to do some work projects around the camp. The students were able to serve by spreading pine straw around flower beds, re-leveling a dirt dodgeball court, cleaning gutters, and excavating old concrete from their grounds. All of these projects will help Trinity Pines serve many students and families over the upcoming summer.

Overall, the students did an amazing job serving and representing Christ this weekend! Students grew as a group of God’s people who loved like Him, serving people and sharing the good news of God’s Kingdom. I’m very proud of all they accomplished.

A special thank you to all of the adult volunteers that were a part of the team! You make trips like this happen—THANK YOU!

BJ Foster, Student Minister
