Pastor Search Update – August Recap

Hello church family!

We began our committee meetings in early August. Since then, we have met weekly to get to know one another and begin the process that lay before us.  We are still in the discovery phase, determining the best course of action for our team to take. Our primary concern is that we would honor Jesus in all that we say and do. We are grateful for the resources at our disposal. Manuals, books, and consulting firms exist to help churches like us find a new pastor.

During our research, a word keeps coming to mind – preparation. How are we preparing ourselves for the change that is to come? What will our church look like in the future? While Dr. Stephen is with us, we are in a season of celebration and reflection. But as we move into 2022 we may feel we are in the wilderness. We may feel restless and impatient as we wait for God’s provision of a new pastor.

In the book of Exodus, we see God’s people in the wilderness. It was a time of refinement and preparation. It was in that wilderness the people questioned, forgot, and turned to idol worship. In that same wilderness, God showed them how to worship him and love one another. Setting aside his anger, he poured out love and gave them manna, the ten commandments, and the promise of a new land. Our God is still Provider, even in the waiting.
In all seasons, our goal remains the same. We commit to Jesus, His followers, and His world.

All glory to God
