The Oasis: An Early Stage Alzheimer’s/ Dementia Program is an outreach ministry of First Baptist Church of Lewisville partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Dallas. This program provides a meeting place for adults with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Meetings combine socialization, physical movement, music and other memory stimulating activities in a safe and comfortable environment. The definition of oasis is “a refuge, as from work or stress; haven”. We provide a safe refuge for the person diagnosed with dementia as well as a worry free refuge for the caregiver. This program allows caregivers a 4 hour window to attend to their personal needs with the assurance that their loved one is well cared for.
Date and Time:
We meet Thursdays from 10am-2pm at First Baptist Church of Lewisville in the Fellowship Center. We break during the summer months and follow the LISD school calendar.

We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and positive volunteers that are ready to jump in and engage with our wonderful participants. I promise after working with this group The Oasis will become the best part of your week! We need volunteers who can dedicate 2-4 Thursdays a month from 10am-2pm to work with our participants.
Do you enjoy leading an exercise, music or craft activity? We also need volunteers that can come in for 20-30 minutes on Thursdays to plan and lead an activity with our group.
