Messy Marriage

Joshua 24:14-24
As a married couple, the decision to be faithful servants of Christ must be made together at a specific point in time. It is something that can’t be implied or assumed. A line must be drawn in the sand and this statement made: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Today, most of us know nothing about the gods the Israelites served instead of the one true God, but our gods are just as numerous and no less destructive. In today’s world, it is so easy for couples to worship one another, their jobs, their stuff, their hobbies, and even their children.

Serving the Lord is not just going to church on Sundays, attending a Bible Study class, or occasionally volunteering at CCA. It means making Christ the central character in the story of your lives together, which is something that does not happen by chance.
