Psalm 95:1-6

Postures of Worship

Throughout Scripture, we see many postures of worship. Take a moment to read this passage and note the various postures that are mentioned. Psalm 47:1 says, “Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” Psalm 63:4 says “I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.”

Our God is worthy of us loving and worshiping him with our heart, soul, mind and strength. Our actions and postures, in private and corporate worship, come from obedience and surrender. I want to encourage you to be demonstrative in your times of worship. We serve a mighty God who has been most expressive with us by the giving of his son. How fitting it is that we should also be animated and active in our response to him. He is ready to receive from you as you clap, bow, bend, shout, raise hands, and sing!
